The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed a two-match ban to the Guinea captain, Pascal Feindouno, following the red card he bagged in the match against Morocco Thursday at the ongoing Nations Cup in Ghana.
According to a CAF statement, the committee at its meeting Friday in Accra handed-out the two-match sanction to the striker, who got the marching off orders after a violent conduct during Guinea's 3-2 victory over Morocco in a Group A clash.
The decision means the France-based striker will miss the final Group A clash against Namibia in Sekondi on Monday, as well as Guinea's quarter-final tie, should the team make it to the last eight.
PANA reports that giving the talented striker a two-match ban, instead of the usual one-match ban for a red card, is an indication of how seriously the soccer body views Feindouno's conduct during the Guinea-Morocco match.
Though the player didn't start the trouble, he kicked an opponent in retaliation, right in the full view of the referee.
