Thousands if not millions of Egyptian fans stormed the streets of Cairo following their team's triumph in the 25th Cup of African Nations (CAN) hosted in 2006 by Egypt.
The streets were packed with chanting and dancing supporters in a festival of horns perceptible in all the districts of the capital and other cities in the country.
Some singers - notably Tamer Hosni, who improvised a feast - before the seat of the Ahli club in the Zamalek district joined the crowd to share their jubilation.
Egypt beat Cote d'Ivoire 4-2 in a penalty shootout here Friday after a goalless 120-minute game to lift its fifth Cup of African Nations trophy in history.
