Even as Nigerian soccer fans moan the Super Eagles' loss to Cote d'Ivoire in the semi-final of the 25th Africa Nations Cup, Coach Austin Eguavoen says Nigeria should plan for the future.
"When I get back to Nigeria, I will discuss with my employers on the next line of action in building a new team for subsequent tournaments," he stressed.
Despite the 0-1 loss to World Cup-bound Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday, Eguavoen said the Super Eagles coaching crew did a good job.
According to him, all the 16 teams at the tournament are potential Winners, and for Nigeria to clinch the bronze medal is a remarkable achievement.
"Everybody here wants to win. While some big names did not even make it beyond group stage we managed against all odds to get to the semi-final which by all standards is commendable," the Nigerian coach stressed.
On the outcome of Friday's final Eguavoen tipped hosts Egypt to beat Cote d'Ivoire.
"Cote d'Ivoire has the talents but Egypt has players that are committed to win all matches which has taken them to this stage of the competition. With the massive home crowd, it will be very tough for Cote d'Ivoire, but all the same, I wish the two teams the best of luck," he added.
