Nigeria's Super Eagles Thursday trained behind closed doors at the main bowl of Port Said Stadium ahead of their crucial quarterfinal tie against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, at the ongoing 25th Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) tournament.
Unlike their previous work outs, fans and journalists were barred from observing the Eagles in training.
Even on Tuesday, stern-looking security men manned all the gates to the main bowl of the Stadium.
"We have had our last media chat on Tuesday and we made it clear to all that we will not allow the press access to the team until after the match against Tunisia, because we want to have full concentration," the team's Welfare Officer, Bello Osagie said as players entered the bus back to the hotel Thursday.
According to the schedule by the local organizing committee, the Tunisians will have their final feel of the pitch Friday afternoon, while Nigeria will train at the El-Merrick Stadium, some 500 metres from the Port Said Stadium.
The Eagles see Saturday's duel as a grudge against Tunisia which defeated Nigeria in semi-final of the 2004 CAN, which the North Africans hosted and won.
