Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Cameroon's national football coach Artur Jorge has predicted his team's victory over World Cup-bound Cote d'Ivoire in their quarterfinals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt later this week.
"Our match against Cote d'Ivoire will be very tough, but I think that we shall win and qualify for the semi-finals. We have already played them twice before and we know them very well," the Portuguese technician said.
Jorge also told journalists that he had exempted some of his players from Sunday's match against DR Congo (beaten 2-0) to enable them recuperate before the quarterfinal encounter with Cote d'Ivoire.
Late last year, Cameroon had beaten Cote d'Ivoire 3-2 in Abidjan during a crucial qualifying match for CAN and the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals in Germany.
However, it was the "Elephants" of Cote d'Ivoire who qualified for the World Cup finals to be staged mid this year because Egypt held the "Indomitable Lions" to a 1-1 draw in Yaounde.
