Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Ahmed "Mido" Hossam, the Egyptian national football team star, fellow Egyptian supporters' contribution during Saturday's crucial tie in Cairo against Cote d'Ivoire, adding that the vocal support factored in the Pharaohs' 3-1 victory over the Elephants.
He thanked the supporters for their constant support throughout the match.
Mido, 23, sustained injury at the 25th minute and was forced out of the match, leaving his team-mates to carry on the successful campaign against the Ivorians.
"I felt pain soon after the kick-off but I wanted to remain playing," he affirmed.
The victory gave Egypt the Group A leadership with seven points, ahead of Cote d'Ivoire's six points.
Both teams, however, qualified for the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
