Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Cameroon's captain Rigobert Song Wednesday received a CAF award for his record 25th match at the Africa Nations Cup (CAN) championships.
The 30-year-old defender, received a trophy from his compatriot, Issa Hayatou, President of CAF midway into the Cameroon-Togo group match at the ongoing continental tournament. Cameroon, four-time African champions, won the game 2-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals of Egypt 2006.
Former Ivorian goalkeeper Alain Gouaméné, who played 24 CAN matches still holds the record of participating in seven CAN editions.
