Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Libyan Football Federation's chairman Gamal Al-Gaafari, announced the sacking of his country's national football coach Ilija Loncarevic of Croatia after the team's last group match against Morocco.
"We have taken that decision because the defeat against Côte d'Ivoire was tantamount to the team's elimination," Al-Gaafari told PANA in Cairo.
The Croatian coach has been at loggerheads with the FLF and several players, including the playmaker and skipper, Tarek Al-Tayeb.
Libya lost 0-3 Egypt in the tournament's opening match before going down 1-2 to Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday.
