Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - World Cup qualifier Angola failed to defeat a 10-man RD Congo football team, ending their Group B match of the 25th African Cup of Nations played in Cairo, Egypt, in a goalless draw on Wednesday.
The result reflected better on the Simbas (Lions) than on the Palancas Negras (Black Antelopes) of Angola who had more scoring opportunities but their marksmen failed to find the net.
This gave encouragement to the undermanned RDC side to issue their own threats on occasions.
But without Tresor Mputu, the scorer in the first match against Togo, who was red-carded after he deliberately kicked an Angolan defender in the groin, the RDC found it tough to turn the tables on their neighbours.
