The management of Egypt's Cairo Stadium has lodged an official complaint to the African Cup of Nations (CAN) Organising Committee against Libyan soccer fans, it accused of vandalising facilities at the stadium during Tuesday's Cote d'Ivoire-Libya group match.
The stadium management said the Libyan supports destroyed seats and other facilities at the recently refurbished stadium after Libya lost the match 1-2.
Egyptian security forces reportedly moved in to restore order.
The Libyan Football Federation was fined 5,000 US dollars for
Libyan supporters' "aggressive behaviour" during the country's
opening match last Friday, which it lost 0-1 to hosts Egypt.
Barring any miracles, Libyan is about the first team to be eliminated
from the 16-nation continental soccer fiesta after conceding two
consecutive defeats.
