Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - The head physician for Nigeria's Super Eagles have certified fit for action star striker Nwankwo Kanu, in the final countdown to the 25th African Nations Cup due to kick off in Egypt Friday, the local press reported Wednesday.
The report said team doctor Adamu Muazu gave a clean bill of health to Kanu, who was injured while playing for his English club West Brom recently.
That means Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen can select Kanu for action in the team's first match against Ghana 23 January in Port Said, Egypt.
Kanu arrived in the team's camp in Portugal only on Monday and has since started training with the Super Eagles.
