Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has terminated the contract of Frenchman Philippe Troussier as coach of the "Atlas Lions" as the kingdom's national football team is popularly known.
"We have deep disagreements and unfortunately we cannot continue. We have reached a friendly separation," the federation announced affirmed Thursday in Rabat.
The FRMF had on 28 October appointed Philippe Troussier as coach of the Moroccan first and second national football teams. He replaced the Moroccan coach Badou Zaki, who resigned after failing to qualify the national team for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
Under his four-year contract with the FRMF, Troussier had also pledged to supervise the lower categories of the national football team.
