Senegal came from one goal down in the first half Friday to beat Guinea 3-2 and grab the first semi-final slot in the ongoing 25th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) at the Harras el-Hedoud Stadium here.

Midfielder Papa Bouba Diop got the equaliser in the 61st minute before Mamadou Niang sent the Teranga Lions ahead on 82 minutes and Henri Camara put the game beyond doubt in extra time on 92 minute.

Pascal Feindouno narrowed the gap from a free kick on 94 minute. Striker Kaba Diawara had placed the Guineans ahead in the first half on 24 minutes after goalkeeper Tony Sylva blundered with a back pass from defender Lamine Diatta.

Guinea, having won all three games in the group stage to qualify for the quarterfinals, were favourites over Senegal, who struggled to the knockout stage on goal difference with only one win and two defeats in the group outings.

Host Egypt and DR Congo will play in the next quarterfinal match of the day at the Cairo International Stadium.
