Cameroon star Samuel Eto'o has drawn level with Laurent Pokou's all-time record of 14 African Nations Cup goals.
The Barcelona striker reached the milestone set by the Ivory Coast's Pokou when he converted a second half penalty in Cameroon's Group C game against Zambia here on Saturday.
The three-time African Footballer of the Year put himself in line for history with a double in his country's opening 4-2 loss to Egypt.
Pokou set the bench mark with six goals in Ethiopia in 1968 and a further eight in Sudan two years later.
Eto'o's first steps on the way to the record came fittingly in Ghana eight years ago.
