Newcastle of England captain and Indomitable Lions of Came roon midfielder, Geremi Njitap, is banking on the lessons of Super Eagles of Nig e ria’s elimination last Sunday as the guiding process to his team’s quest to reac h the final of the nation’s cup again since 2002 in Mali.
The player, whose specialty is free-kicks, who bared his mind to the media as Ca meroon rounded up their training sessions ahead of the match against host Ghana,
said his team would not let go the advantage Nigeria failed to utilize in the qu a rter final last Sunday when they confront the Black Stars Thursday at the Ohen D j an Stadium here.
“It's not easy playing against the host because a lot of advantage will go for t hem and if we have the advantage Nigeria had against Ghana last Sunday, I don’t t hink we will let go especially when the Black Stars are under pressure to play w e ll and equalise.
“The moment we are in front against host nations, the best we try to do is to in crease the pressure and thereby destabilise them till the end of the match, beca u se the idea of falling back coupled with a red card will make things easy for us
and I pray we have something similar to that when we play them,” he commented.
