The Executive Committee of t he Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has decided to alter dates for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) tournament in Angola in 2010, following a weather report by its inspection team.
The team found that the weather conditions in Angola during February, where parts of that country experience heavy rainfall, would not be convenient for CAN to take place in January and February, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said on its official website.
GFA said CAF's Executive Committee decided at a meeting in Accra on Wednesday to alter their initial dates but the competition would still be held within the traditional January time though it would start some 10 days before the original date.
This means the competition which is held in January and February would run from 10-31 January, 2010.
