Jay Jay Okocha has promised to repay Bolton Wanderers' faith in him by returning from the African Nations Cup and leading them to the English League Cup crown.
Okocha, who missed his team's semi-final win over Aston Villa because of his commitments with Nigeria in Tunisia, praised Bolton boss Sam Allardyce and said he owed him a great deal by handing him the chance to play in England.
"I think I can keep performing and producing for him," said Okocha. "That's the only way to show how much I appreciate the opportunity he gave me to play in the Premiership and as long as I am a Bolton player I will keep working hard.
"That way I am sure we can achieve what he expected us to achieve when he first signed me."
Okocha leads his Nigerian team into an African Nations Cup quarter-final clash against Cameroon in Monastir on Sunday.
The final of the tournament, should Nigeria get that far, is on February 14 leaving him plenty of time to return to Britain for the League Cup final against Middlesbrough in Cardiff on February 29.
