Struggling English Premiership side Wolves have lodged an official complaint with the Senegal Football Association over striker Henri Camara's late return from the African Nations Cup.
The 26-year-old should have been back with the Midlands side in time for last Tuesday's match at Leeds United but instead he was forced to go from Tunisia to Dakar for a civic reception before being allowed to get on a plane for London.
"We are sending a letter to their football federation because it was a very annoying situation," said Wolves boss Dave Jones.
"None of the England-based players seemed to have got back within the 48 hours we expected so we will also speak to Henri to get the full story."
Senegal were knocked out of the Nations Cup by hosts Tunisia in the quarter-finals last Saturday and Wolves were desperate to have Camara back in the squad for the relegation battle at Elland Road which they lost 4-1.
Despite the controversy, Camara, who has only scored once for the Molineux side and failed to find the net at all in four games in Tunisia, is determined to be a hit at Wolves.
"I feel in form but I just have to start scoring goals. I feel have been working myself insane and I think people have taken notice," he told reporters.
"I always work for the benefit of the team and I am very glad to have made this choice in joining Wolves."
With Wolves not involved in the FA Cup this weekend, Camara's next chance to score won't come until a week on Saturday against Fulham.
"I feel confident I can do well in the Premiership," said Camara. "So far, I have had better luck in creating chances than scoring goals but hopefully that will change now that I'm back.
"The supporters have not stopped singing to encourage me, which has filtered through to all the players."
