Injured Nigeria striker Julius Aghahowa is making good progress in his battle to be fit for Wednesdays African Nations Cup semi-final against hosts Tunisia, team doctor Muazu Abdulkadir has told
"The player suffered a thigh injury as a result of a heavy knock during the match against Benin. We will examine him again and will be able to make a full assessment of his fitness," said Abdulkadir.
"The good thing is that he has made an amazing recovery because it was really a serious injury."
The 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk striker did not feature in Nigerias 2-1 quarter-final victory on Sunday over defending champions Cameroon.
Nigeria will take on hosts Tunisia in the semi-finals on Wednesday at the Rades Stadium in Tunis.
If Aghahowa is passed fit, then it is likely that Osaze Odemwingie, who has two goals to his name at the tournament, would make way.
