Ghana's coach Claude Le Roy says he would employ a different strategy for Ghana's quarter-final clash against Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) website said Le Roy introduced a different approach in tactics against Morocco, allowing more operating room for Essien in midfield as Anthony Annan sat back in midfield.
"We had to create more space for Michael (Essien). That is why I put this fantastic player, Anthony Annan, who is a marvellous player. It's a pity sometimes we cannot use this player for the game but that's the reality," he said.
"For our next game I'll have to work out a different strategy. The first quality of intelligence is to be able to adapt," the Ghana coach added.
However, as Le Roy looks ahead, he has refused to mention names of his starting line-up.
"But my tactics would vary. I can't say who would be in the team on Sunday. We have Laryea Kingston available," he said.
"The reality is, there are eleven seats always available and we would see who gets a place. I will not reveal my selection. That is something I never do. Throughout my career, it's always between me and my players. I would inform them when I am ready," Le Roy added.
