Senegal coach Lamine Ndiaye said here Thursday that El Hadj Diouf and Tony Sylva were dropped from the squad to face South Africa after they stayed up late at a Kumasi night club.
Portugal-based Ousmane Ndoye was the other player given a match ban after the Senegal stars stayed up at a popular night club 48 hours before a crucial Group D tie.
"They broke camp curfew by staying up late at a night club," said Ndiaye, who has replaced Henri Kasperczak who quit as coach after the team lost to Angola in an earlier group game.
Officials though said the players will be eligible to play again should the Teranga Lions qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
The publication of details of the late night party has led to the team snubbing the Senegalese media here in Kumasi ahead of the South Africa clash.
