Substitute Amr Zaki's 80th minute header saw host Egypt advance to the final of the 25th edition of the African Cup of Nations in a semi-final match Tuesday against Senegal at the Cairo International Stadium.
The Egyptians got the opener in the 36th minute through Captain Ahmed Hassan when he converted a penalty kick, while the Senegalese levelled the score after Mamadou Niang headed home in the 51st minute.
Cote d'Ivoire, which qualified against Nigeria 1-0 in the first semi-final match of the day, will meet host Egypt in the final on Friday at the 70,000-seater Cairo International Stadium.
Semi-final losers Senegal and Nigeria will play for the third place on Thursday at the Cairo Military Academy Stadium.
